A vivid dream recurs - the sparse beauty of Iona, a small rock island off the coast of Scotland that is one of the world's great spiritual sites. Jamie and I visited there in the summer of 2006, and found it deeply moving. Here's a glimpse of the landscape, from a YouTube video that was filmed two weeks before we arrived:
